How To Cleanse Your Crystal

If so, you are going to want to know how to cleanse that crystal so that you can recharge and purify the crystal of any energies it has absorbed. Crystals absorb energetic frequencies from anything they come in contact with. Therefore you must cleanse your crystal to revert it back to its neutral state to ensure any accumulated energies are not passed on. The more time you spend cleansing your crystals, the more in tune with your energy they become and the better they serve you.
Here are our top 6 ways to cleanse your crystal.
1. Salt Water
Homemade saltwater made from adding a tablespoon of salt into a bowl of water (or simply a bowl of salt water collected from the ocean) can be used to give your crystals a salt water bath. Simply place your crystal (s) in the salt water and leave them for a few hours to soak. Rinse with clean water and carefully pat dry. The salt water cleanses the energy from the stone. Please take care as some crystals cannot be placed in water as they are too soft and brittle, causing them to fracture, break, or even dissolve! Check that your crystal can be cleansed using salt water first. Clear Quartz (used in our crystal water bottle) can be cleansed using a salt water bath.
2. Moonlight
Cleansing by Moonlight and Sunlight are the simplest and safest methods of cleaning crystals. As a guide, you should use the full moon to remind you that your crystal (s) need cleansing. On each full moon, place your crystal (s) outside so they are surrounded by the moon’s energy. If you are not able to place them outside, simply place them on a windowsill that is in the view of the moonlight. The moon’s energy will cleanse the crystals of any negative energy and recharge them back to their neutral state.
3. Sunlight
Similarly to Moonlight, Sunlight can also be used to recharge your crystals. Simply place your crystals outside in the sun (or on a windowsill under the sunlight). The incredibly powerful energy of the sun will balance the crystal’s innate yin energy which it received from the Earth when it was created.
4. Earth
The unique elements of the earth will cleanse your crystal back to its neutral state. Simply bury your crystal underground for a full day and let the Earth absorb all the unwanted energies encompassed in the stone. The crystal will be restored back to its original state.
5. Smudging
You can use smudge sticks to cleanse your crystals of negative energies. You may already use smudge sticks to clear your home of bad energy, but you can also use them to do the same for your crystals. Smudge sticks can be made from many different herbs but the most effective is white sage. Simply light the smudge stick and wave it gently and slowly in the air so that the smoke spills over the crystals.
6. Meditation
Next time you meditate, why not hold your crystal in your hand? This way you will also recharge your crystal full of positive powerful energy. Make sure that you are sat comfortably in a quiet room and that you hold your crystal in your hand whilst closing your eyes. Allow the silence and serenity to surround you and visualise your crystal in front of you. Picture a bright white light pouring above the crystal and washing away any negative energy that is trapped inside the crystal.
